Liam Gallagher’s new band claim it wouldn’t ‘seem right’ to revisit the past

.
Beady Eye have vowed to not include any Oasis songs in their live set after claiming it “doesn’t seem right” to play them without Noel Gallagher.

.
.
Liam Gallagher’s new band played their debut gigs in Glasgow on Thursday and Friday (March 3 and 4), when, as expected, no songs by Oasis featured in their setlist.

Instead, their 14-song show at the city’s Barrowlands venue largely consisted of songs from their debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ and also included a cover of World Of Twist’s ‘Sons Of The Stage’.

.
.
Speaking to the Daily Record, guitarist Andy Bell said that the decision over the setlist was made “from day one”.

.
“It just doesn’t seem right to play those songs without Noel there. He wrote most of those classic tunes. That’s what Oasis was,” he commented.

.
.
Bandmate Gem Archer continued: “We’re only playing Beady Eye music. It’s not like we’re on the run from the past but it’s a time to say, ‘Look, this is where we are. It’s a great place to be’.”

.
.
“It’s not like we’re just topping up a set we’ve been playing for ten years. We’re playing everything we’ve got more or less.”

.
Last month, Liam Gallagher refused to completely rule out reforming Oasis with his brother Noel, commenting: “I’m not going to say ‘never’, but at the moment, no fucking chance.

Beady Eye’s UK tour continues at the Manchester Apollo tonight and tomorrow (March 6 and 7) before wrapping up at the London Troxy later in the week.

Twist ‘Sons Of The Stage’.
