Freeze, froze, frozen: gelare in inglese

Freeze e’ un verbo irregolare inglese che significa gelare o congelare, e si coniuga con froze al passato e con frozen al participio passato. Ecco alcuni esempi di frasi che contengono questo verbo nelle sue forme diverse.
make sure you put your coat on, it’s freezing outside (assicurati di vestire la giacca, che fuori si gela)
last night the lake froze solid (ieri notte il lago e’ gelato)
you can’t eat the peas because they are frozen (non puoi mangiare i piselli perche’ sono congelati)

Quando freeze e’ un sostantivo significa ‘gelata’, nel senso metereologico, per esempio:
there’s going to be a freeze tomorrow (ci sara’ una gelata domani)

Altro sostantivo legato a freeze e’ freezer, che significa congelatore:
can you put the meat in the freezer, please?  (puoi mettere la carne nel congelatore, per favore?)
