Starsport revealed yesterday that Roman Abramovich could sack the Italian if the Blues’ season does not immediately improve. But Ancelotti is adamant his team can turn their season around and win the Premier League and FA Cup.
But every manager who has failed to win a trophy under Chelsea’s Russian tycoon Abramovich has been sacked.
When asked if he expected the chop if Chelsea finished the season empty handed, Ancelotti said: “This club is one of the most important clubs in the world so it’s normal that, when you start the season, the aim is to win. If we don’t win, then something wasn’t good, but has no impact on the contract.’’

But when it was pointed out that contracts meant nothing when Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant and Big Phil Scolari were all sacked, Ancelotti boldly insisted: “I am here to change the history of this club.

“I believe I will still be here next season because I am an optimistic man.
“I have a very good relationship with the club and with Roman. My position is not in discussion.

“I know Avram Grant got to the final of the Champions League and Carling Cup and came second in the league, but Grant was the past. Now there is a present.
“I think the owner now is thinking what I think: to win the Premier League and to win the FA Cup.
“Things started to go wrong when we lost to Manchester City. This was the start.

“And so, during this period, we had a lot of injuries and we didn’t have the possibility to turn over on the squad.
“But we have to look forward. I’m sure that, with our first victory, we’ll come back to playing well.
“This is no excuse. We have to put things right now.’’
Carlo Ancelotti insiste che può ancora fare storia restando alla guida del Chelsea in questa stagione – qualsiasi cosa accadda.
Starsport ha rivelato ieri che Roman Abramovich potrebbe licenziare l’italiano se i Blues non migliorano immediatamente. Ma Ancelotti è molto chiaro nel dire che la sua squadra può riscattare la stagione vincedo la Premier League e la FA Cup.
Ma tutti gli allenatori che non hanno vinto un trofeo sotto la gestione del magnate russo Abramovich sono stati licenziati.
Quando gli è stato chiesto se si aspetta il licenziamento nel caso il Chelsea finisca la stagioen a mani vuote, Ancelotti ha detto: “Questa è una delle squadre più importanti del mondo così e normale che, quando cominci la stagione hai lo scopo di vincere. Se non vinciamo, allora qualcosa non è andato bene, ma non ha nessuna conseguenza sul contratto”
Ma quando è stato sottolineato che i contratti di Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant e Big Phil Scolari non impedirono a loro di essere licenziati, Ancelotti coraggiosamente insiste: “Sono qui per cambiare la storia di questa squadra”
“Penso che sarò ancora qui la prossima stagione perchè sono un uomo ottimista”
“Ho un rapporto molto buono con la squadra e con Roman. La mia posizione non è in discussione”
“So che Avram Grant è arrivato alla finale di Champions League e Carling Cup ed è arrivato secondo in campionato, ma Grant è il passato. Adesso c’è un presente”.
“Penso che la proprietà stia pensando a ciò che penso io: a vincere la Premier League e la FA Cup.
“Le cose hanno cominciato a girare male da quando abbiamo perso contro il Manchester Cit. Da li è cominciato tutto.
“E così durante questo periodo abbiamo avuto molti infortuni e nessuan possibilità di cambi in squadra.
“Ma dobbiamo guardare avanti, sono sicuro che, con la nostra prima vittoria, torneremo a giocare bene.
“Questa non è una scusa. Dobbiamo mettere le cose a posto ora.
