L’espressione on the tip of my tongue (sulla punta della lingua) ha un significato del tutto identico alla sua traduzione letterale in italiano. Essa viene usata per esprimere che qualcosa che al momento non riusciamo a ricordiamo in breve ci tornerà in mente.
vediamo un dialogo di esempio in cui questa frase viene usata.

Sarah: We had a good time last summer in Spain
