La filastrocca di One Two Three Four Five

One Two Three Four Five è una delle prime filastrocche che si insegnano ai bambini in Inghilterra ed ha lo scopo di insegnare loro a contare.
Il testo non ha nessun senso, come molte altre filastrocche, ed è originario del 1800.

One, two, three, four, five.
Once I caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine ,ten,
Then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on the right.
Uno, due, tre, quattro, cinque
Una volta ho preso un pesce vivo
Sei, sette, otto, nove, dieci
Poi l’ho lasciato andare ancora
Perchè l’hai lasciato andare?
Perchè mi ha morso un dito.
Quale dito ti ha morso?
Questo piccolo dito sulla destra.
